The Free-Range Hens

Some consider free-range hens a new idea. Not so, this photograph was taken in the early 1950s when around 2000 hens were farmed at Hill House. Eggs were collected daily and cleaned, sorted into size, placed into egg-trays and then boxed ready for dispatch.
