The Roper Children on BenchThis photograph was taken in about 1950 and shown the family of 'William John and Marion Edith Roper. From the left: Thomas Edwin John (b: 1936), Stephen George (b: 1948), Marion Elizabeth (b: 1946), Robert William (b: 1940), Henry David b: 1937).The bench was a very ornate heavy wooden piece of furniture with a large storage area under the seat. It usually resided in the main hallway of 'Hill House', but was obviously lifted into the garden for this photograph. |
